Common name

Humpback whale.

Size

Humpback whales are on average 15 m long when they are adults and can reach up to 17 m.

Weight

They tend to weigh between 25,000 and 30,000 kg.

Habitat

They are found in almost all seas on the planet.

Feeding

Their diet consists of krill and small fish.

Reproduction

They have the habit of migrating to the Brazilian coast during the winter and spring to mate. After 11 months of gestation, the female gives birth to a single calf.

Conservation status

Least concern.
