The food web of polar regions consists of feeding interactions between organisms, supported by the transfer of energy and matter that make up various interconnected food chains. It always begins with producers, which capture and convert the energy received from the sun into organic matter (through photosynthesis). This energy is transferred to the organisms that consume them, known as consumers. These can be primary, secondary, or tertiary, depending on their interaction with other organisms. At the end of the chain, there are decomposer organisms, which obtain energy by breaking down dead organic matter present in the environment.
