It is one of the largest anemones in Antarctica, reaching around 25 cm in height.

Habitat
They are only present in the Southern Ocean, Southwest Atlantic and Southeast Pacific, from 25 to 420 meters deep (FAO). They live in marine environments with moderate currents, where they can capture suspended food.
Feeding
It is a carnivorous predator, feeding on small marine organisms, such as zooplankton, small crustaceans and fish larvae.
Reproduction
Reproduction can occur sexually or asexually.
In sexual reproduction, gametes are released into the water, where external fertilization occurs, giving rise to planktonic larvae that eventually attach themselves to the substrate.
It can also reproduce asexually, by longitudinal fission or budding, increasing its local population.
Conservation status
Least concern.
